Harmony Cup 2007 - Togetherness Through Football
16 July 2007

At the finals on 13 July 07, A/Prof Ho Peng Kee commended the schools for coming together to organise the event, adding that football was a way to bond people. He told the students that playing together, though they had different skills, they were one team

The Student Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Akilan, had this to say:

“The fact that the game is being played just before Racial Harmony Day is to remind all of us that as Singaporeans, we must not forget the importance of working and playing together as one people. It is very easy to forget this at times in the midst of our pre-occupation as students.

The Harmony Cup is a small attempt to establish bonds between students of diverse backgrounds to forge lasting friendship. And today, with the conclusion of this tournament, these objectives have obviously materialised: we are indeed all friends now!

The challenge is to be friends forever. That is going to take a longer time!”
