The Home United Football Club (HUFC), together with the Harmony Centre and Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, organised a programme called ‘Harmony through Soccer’ on the 19 August 2007. This programme promotes awareness and understanding of the religions in Singapore amongst youths of different races and backgrounds.
The programme promotes bonding among youths through soccer. The participants comprise HUFC football players from the S-League and Prime League teams, players from HUFC’s youth development programmes from 10-18 years age groups and the parents of the youth players. Participants will embark on Learning Journeys at the Harmony Centre and Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, where talks will be held to touch on the various aspects of Islam and Buddhism. About 300 participants are expected.
