Guest-of-Honour, MP Denise Phua Lay Peng with IRCC members and Grassroots Leaders

The Kelantan Court Pavilion was bustling with people from all walks of life on the Sunday morning. Both the young and old, families and friends were spotted mingling with one another. It may be a typical scene in Singapore but they were all present to celebrate friendship regardless of race and religion in Kampong Glam!

‘Harmony in Diversity’ is the theme for this year’s Racial Harmony Day Celebrations. MP Ms. Denise Phua emphasized that in a multi- racial and multi-religious Singapore, it is important to share our joy and wealth with fellow Singaporeans. She said we do not judge Singaporeans by their status, age or race because all of us are privileged members of the ‘One Singapore Family’. We should come together as a cohesive force, to make Singapore a better place to live in.

Guests were treated to an array of interesting performances which comprised songs and dances from different ethnic groups and a captivating magic show. Games and Lucky Draw also brought much laughter and excitement to everyone.

As we celebrate ‘Harmony in Diversity’, let’s continue to give our very best to Singapore, our family. "Majulah Singapura!" was the big cheer we gave together after the opening address.
