By Asha Popatlal, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 06 May 2007 2000 hrs

SINGAPORE: For the first time, Marine Parade residents got in on the act with their Ready Bags to show how prepared they were in the event of an attack during a drill on Emergency Preparedness Day.

Uniformed personnel showed off their moves, preparing for any sort of terror attacks.

Courses are being organised to help the public with emergency self-help skills.

Civil Defence staff plan to keep spreading the message so that more and more residents have essential protection kits in their homes.

About 800 residents participated in the day's activities.
