MORE than 60 members of various faiths gathered at the Muslim Kidney Action Association last evening to break fast with their Muslim friends.

The event kicked off at 5.30pm with a sharing session by religious leaders on inter-faith harmony and the importance of building goodwill among the various religions.

Special guests included Sister Theresa Seow of the Catholic Church, Venerable Gunaratana of the Mahakaruna Society, Mr Rustom Ghadiali, president of the Inter-Religious Organisation Singapore, Mr V.R. Nathan, the honorary chairman of the Hindu Endowments Board and Master Lee Zhi Wang, president of the Singapore Taoist Mission.

At 7.10pm, guests broke fast by eating dates. This was followed by a vegetarian buffet dinner.

The Muslim Kidney Action Association organised its first inter-faith breaking of fast session last year.
