Reflections on the Community Emergency Preparedness Programme (CEPP) (Fire Fighting and Safety Course) 2007, held at Tampines 2nd Civil Defence Division on 26th October 2007

Let's hear what students from Temasek Secondary School had to say about the programme they attended.

Asther Ting of Sec 3N said : " During the CEPP course, I learnt that we must be responsible for our own safety, especially those fires in our homes. I now know how to handle a small fire if I ever encounter one either at home or in school. I will also ensure that I can help in whatever ways I can in any fire emergency."

Koh Ming Fong of Sec 3E said : "I have leant a lot during the course; not only about the different kinds of fires, but also the different methods of putting out them. I have also learnt to differentiate among the many different kinds of fire extinguishers and learnt first-hand, how to use a fire extinguisher in a proper way. I am now better equipped to handle any situation with regards to fires."

Wong Simin of Sec 2E added : " Today’s course is very interesting as we not only learnt that having a fire extinguisher in our homes is useful, but also the proper techniques to handle one. We also learnt how to escape in case of a fire, and how to put out small fires using the appropriate means. I will definitely be more careful from now on when handling flammable stuff."
