Workshops and Learning Visits for SG United Student Journalists Club members

Set up in early 2009, members of the SG United Student Journalists Club were given basic training in news reporting. Their reports are uploaded onto the Singapore United web portal and they receive CCA or CIP points for covering national-level events. Through news reporting, we keep up our engagement with them. The students learnt how news is made when they visited The New Paper newsroom on 22 Jun 2009 and MediaCorp Radio on 19 Mar 2010. They also picked up useful photography skills to complement their news stories in a workshop on 18 Mar 2010, and undertook field projects on news reporting to hone their journalistic skills.
